If your meeting has invitees, Schedule Us can’t proceed unless every invitee has an email address.
Either type an email address in the space provided or remove the invitee by clicking the cancel button ⓧ.
But why?
When you click “Add to calendar”, Schedule Us downloads an .ics file to your device which opens in your calendar app. However, an .ics file that has an invitee without an email address generates an error. Technically it is a badly formatted .ics file.
(If you include just an email address, without a name, that will work fine.)
What’s the best approach?
The goal of Schedule Us is to use AI to make it simple and quick to get something in your calendar. Type whatever you want in the text field and Schedule Us will figure out the meeting details.
However, if you do mention other people and you want your calendar app to send them a meeting request, it is best to include an email address in your initial input. For example:
HR discussion with Frank, fthomas@business.com, Thur morning at 8:30, Northeast Boardroom.
If Schedule Us recognizes an invitee but no email address, then before you click “Add to calendar” you’ll have to:
- Add an email address, or
- Remove the invitee (you can always add invitees at the next step when the meeting is in your calendar app).
Find an approach that works for you
Remember that Schedule Us is surprisingly capable and adaptable. For example, you could just paste email addresses after your meeting description, and it will figure out which email goes with who:
